2024-01-19

According to the China Passenger Car Market Information Association (China Passenger Car Association), in the first quarter of this year, China exported 1.069 million vehicles, an increase of 54% year-on-year. Japan exported 1.047 million vehicles in the same period. This means that for the first time in the first quarter of this year, China's car exports surpassed those of Japan, the largest exporter of cars. The rapid growth of automobile exports has led to market predictions that China is expected to become the world's largest automobile exporter this year.

In this regard, Shu Jueting said at the regular press conference on the 25th that in recent years, China's automobile exports have been stable and good, and the product structure has continued to optimize: first, the scale of trade has gradually expanded. In 2021 and 2022, the increase of automobile exports will be more than 1 million units for two consecutive years. In the first four months of this year, China's automobile exports 1.494 million, an increase of 76.5%; Second, the market is increasingly diversified. In the first four months, China's automobile exports to 204 countries and regions around the world, of which 13.64 billion US dollars were exported to countries along the "Belt and Road", an increase of 1.2 times, accounting for 45.9%. Exports to developed economies reached US $12.41 billion, an increase of 1.2 times, accounting for 41.83%.

Of particular concern is that in the first four months, the proportion of new energy vehicle exports in the overall export amount increased to 42.9%, and the contribution rate to the growth of automobile exports reached 51.6%.

China's automobile exports have shown a rapid growth of the stage, but Shu Jueting also believes that there is still a lot of room for improvement in the quality and efficiency of automobile exports, and there are still some difficulties and problems in transportation security, financial services, overseas after-sales and other aspects. Shu Jueting said that in the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will work with relevant departments to focus on the following three aspects:

First, strengthen transportation security, promote medium - and long-term strategic cooperation between automobile enterprises and shipping enterprises, encourage shipping companies to accelerate the construction of ro-ro fleets, and expand automobile export capacity; Second, automobile enterprises are encouraged to cooperate with domestic and foreign financial institutions to innovate financial products and services to better meet the needs of enterprises under the premise of legal compliance and risk control; The third is to support automobile enterprises to improve the international marketing and after-sales service system, enhance brand publicity overseas, show the ability of sales and after-sales service, and establish a good brand image.
